WORLD FOOD THREAT

According to the US Edition of the "Food Navigator", the following is a possibility.

The world has become much less food diverse and independent than in any time in history.

We currently depend upon five major crops to feed the world.

These are wheat (which food terrorists warn us is bad for us), corn (which is tremendously genetically mutated) soybeans (another scientifically altered  food) rice and potatoes.

The world has lost nearly all of the regional food grains once responsible to for life from the high Altiplano of the Andes, the  North African coast and central Asia.

Losing this diversity makes the world as a whole more vulnerable to famine with failure of any one of these crops by drought, flooding or disease.  Losing any one of these crops could bring about a world wide Irish Potato Famine.
