TESCO, WALMART, CARREFOUR, COSTCO and other major international food companies help to promote and encourage human slavery and trafficking in Southeast Asia.
According to Food Navigator.com, "the Guardian" a UK based newspaper which spent six months investigating the farmed seafood industry in Thailand, thousands of Southeast Asian men are sold into slavery then kept at sea on commercial boats and barges for years at a time. They receive no pay, are feed scraps, beaten and tortured regularly and often murdered.
Yet American based WALMART and COSTCO continue put billions of dollars annually into the pockets of these groups which run the farms and practice slavery.
This is actually as bad as the cacao slavery in Africa in which Nestles is a participant.
The most anger provoking thing here is a spokesman for the buying industry says, well it might be happening but we just don't know for certain.
I guess that WALMART COSTCO and all other U>S> food companies will continue to purchase Thailand farmed, shrimp, prawns and scallops.
