The Constitution under the 2nd Amendment gives Americans the Right to own and carry firearms. I do not see anywhere that we are given, by the constitution, the Right to own and drive an automobile or own a private backyard swimming pool.
In 2015, 35,092 Americans were killed in automobiles, from 1999 through 2010, 46,000 + Americans drown, that is more than 10 per day. That is 3,650+ per year by drowning. Over the last 10 years the average number of deaths by firearms is about 30,000. Take away the terrorist killings, law enforcement shootings and accidental shootings and that comes to less that 29,000 per year.
Do away with automobiles, backyard swimming pools, lake and river swimming and tubing, water skiing and we save 39,000 lives a year. These are not given to us by the Constitution!!
