I know that many dispute the statement from Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto as given in the Movie "Tora, Tora, Tora" upon the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, ""I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with terrible resolve."
Admiral Yamamoto may not have given the statement as quoted but the statement was very correct and the "Greatest Generation" did awaken and destroyed the truly evil and cowardly Axis Powers of Germany, Italy and Japan.
Today America is not only a sleeping giant but a giant whose sleep is drugged induced.
The drug is entitlement and taxation of the few to support the federal government and the millions who have come to be dependant on the dole and have had any God given light of freedom and self worth extinguished by Liberals and Democrats.
The United States of the the early 1940's was a land which identified itself as a Christian and God obeying people, they worked the land and knew the value of work.
Today we have a generation of people locked into video games, cellphone addiction, so enamored with themselves that their next most important event is getting another selfie out, getting their next joint or fix and their next government check.
Admiral Yamamoto did make the following statement which is very true to today's America, "A military man can scarcely pride himself on having smitten a sleeping enemy, it is more of a matter of shame simply for the one smitten."
