I don't usually go directly to an e-mail for the source of my discontent but one sent by a cousin who forwarded the following from another cousin seems appropriate.
In his book "An Enemy Hath Done This", and during an address given on February 28, 1966 Ezra Taft Benson a form Sec. of Agriculture under Eisenhower and later Pres. of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints stated the following:
"There would be a further huge expansion of government and of its control over our economy, education, medical services, and every detail of our family and individual lives.. During such a period, it is reasonable to expect..unless sufficient brakes are put on the present stampede to the left, we will get exactly what the communist-socialist coalition is planning-the nationalization of insurance, transportation, communications, utilities, banks, farms housing, hospitals and schools.
To take over our schools, the educational system will first have been federalized and then prostituted entirely to serving the propaganda needs of the state planners with absolutely no regard for truth or scholarship or tradition."
Does this sound like any situation we know of?
1. Expansion of government
2. Econonmic control
3. Control of medical services
4. Nationalization and control of insurance
5. Control of transportstion
6. Control of communications (check the current staus of the "Fairness Doctrine"
7. Control of utilities (not allowing us to mine new and abundant coal nor drill
for oil nor mine uranium nor allowing any new coal nor nuclear power plants)
8. Control over the banking institutions (duh)
9. Housing (just check out the bail outs, Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, talk about a nightmare on Elm Street)
10. Hospitals (just check out healthcare)
11. Schools (Check the National Education Agency)
This one I added: Commerce and nationalization of business! Just look at Chrysler and General Motors now owned and run by the feds and they are preparing to take over another 20% of our economy with the health care bill.
Thanks to dee hardy and loa owens.
